Authoria Unites DDI’s Competency Libraries with Its Comprehensive Talent Management Solution

DDI Competency Libraries Are Embedded as Standard Feature of Authoria Talent Management

Waltham, MA – March 19, 2008 – Authoria, Inc., the leader in integrated talent management solutions, today announced an expanded partnership with Development Dimensions International, Inc. (DDI), a global human resources consulting firm. The collaboration includes embedding DDI’s competency libraries within the comprehensive Authoria Talent Management solution, as a core component of the base offering.

DDI competencies will be deployed consistently across the key functions of recruiting, performance management, employee development, and succession planning in Authoria’s comprehensive talent management solution.

Competencies – clusters of behavior associated with success in a given position, group of positions, or organization – are “the foundation for talent management systems,” according to a recent Bersin & Associates report. (1) But often they are defined by HR organizations without the involvement of business managers, and are inconsistently applied. By placing competencies at the core of its unified approach to talent management – making them readily available to line-of-business managers as well as HR professionals – Authoria improves employers’ ability to recruit, identify, and develop top talent.

“As the nation’s leading provider of healthcare services, with approximately 186,000 employees, the strength of our healthcare team depends on our ability to find and grow the best talent,” said John Gering, Group Director of Organizational Development at HCA, Inc. “Authoria and DDI’s integrated solution is a critical element of our success in rolling out our performance-management and employee-development initiatives.”

“We’re excited about bringing market-leading competency libraries within reach of every Authoria customer, through this expanded relationship with DDI,” said Tod Loofbourrow, Authoria Chairman and CEO. “Along with the other enhancements to Authoria Talent Management that we’re announcing today, this is a significant step toward empowering business managers, HR professionals, and employees to ‘make talent count’.”

“This extension of our long-standing partnership with Authoria will provide our shared customers with a powerful tool in executing their talent management strategy,” said Scott Erker, Senior Vice President, DDI Selection Solutions.

Under the agreement, Authoria will include DDI’s Executive Competency Library and High Performance Competency Library, as well as associated rating scales, interview questions, STARs feedback journaling, and learning-resource links, in forthcoming quarterly updates of Authoria Talent Management, as part of the base product delivered to customers. DDI’s competency libraries will be automatically shared across the talent-management functions of
