The core premise of the book is simple. The key differentiator in successful reward programs today is effective implementation (versus design) AND managers are the key to successful implementation BUT managers are not being effectively prepared and utilized in this regard. The authors will share their findings and war stories of what actually works for organizations in terms of successful reward program implementation.
The author's intent is certainly not to alienate the HR function with this book. On the contrary, their intent is to better enable the HR and Compensation professional to recognize the criticality of managers in the implementation success of reward programs and to leverage the manager’s success in implementation.
