Managing Rewards in the Trenches - What Works?

Most organizations already do a good job of compensation design but run into trouble in implementation. Managers are the key to implementation, but often don’t do it well. In this practical webinar the authors of The Manager's Guide to Rewards will share war stories of what actually works for organizations in terms of successful reward program implementation.
Most books on the topic of rewards are written for either the HR professional and technically focused or for senior executives and strategically focused.   The new book The Manager's Guide to Rewards -- is written for the manager – an audience that surprisingly, up to this point, has been neglected.   Co-authors and Hay Group consultants Tom McMullen and Mel Stark will be joining us on an upcoming webinar to discuss their new book.

The core premise of the book is simple. The key differentiator in successful reward programs today is effective implementation (versus design) AND managers are the key to successful implementation BUT managers are not being effectively prepared and utilized in this regard.   The authors will share their findings and war stories of what actually works for organizations in terms of successful reward program implementation.

The author's intent is certainly not to alienate the HR function with this book. On the contrary, their intent is to better enable the HR and Compensation professional to recognize the criticality of managers in the implementation success of reward programs and to leverage the manager’s success in implementation.
