With a mandated cap of only 65,000 new H-1B visas for skilled foreign employees available each year, employers are now searching for additional immigration options to fulfill their global hiring needs. Roughly 163,000 petitions were received during the eligible H-1B filing period this past April meeting both the 65,000 cap and the 20,000 available under the “U.S. Master’s degree” cap for fiscal year 2009. Where does that leave you if you still need to hire specialized foreign workers this year?
There are a number of alternatives to the H-1B available to secure skilled foreign workers throughout the rest of the year and many of these visas are processed much more quickly than the H-1B. This session will provide an in-depth review of the available alternatives for employers challenged to fill skilled positions including best practices illustrating how HR professionals can leverage technology to enhance their immigration process and develop a recruitment and retention advantage for their organization.
