As employers have turned their attention abroad for skilled talent, HR professionals are faced with the challenge of navigating the H-1B visa application process. Following the 2008 filing period in which over 160,000 petitions were received for the available 65,000 slots, employers must plan strategically for the upcoming April 1st filing date. This session will introduce the basics of an H-1B visa including who qualifies, the importance of the H-1B cap, and available alternatives to help employers properly plan to meet their hiring goals.
