The Talent Jigsaw
‘the right piece in the right place'
9.30 a.m.    Tuesday, 30th January 2007, Hotel The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai

Getting the best talent and keeping the talent in an organization has becoming intensely competitive. Most corporate officers say that the biggest constraint to pursuing growth opportunities is talent.

Corporations spend as much as 36%  of their revenue on human capital expenses
Total cost of losing a single position to turnover is as high as 150% of the yearly salary of the position.
Average staffing function cost companies 11.6% of the salaries of those recruited.
Organizations with excellent HR practices have demonstrated greater than 10% return in shareholder value.
83% of employees and 56% of HR professionals believe that it is likely that voluntary turnover will rise
Companies no longer exert as much control over people assets as they do over their physical, financial and property assets. An organization's success or failure hinges on the quality and longevity of the relationships it forges with its employees. With the mindset of life-time-employment becoming a fading memory, today’s talented employees are willing ‘job hoppers’. Talent management recognizes that the balance of power between employer and employees has changed. It is now a relationship of equals.
The mantra is: ‘Assign the right employee to the right role in the right environment with the right manager to unleash maximum performance’.

Whether we refer to it as a 'talent war' or ‘skill shortage’, it's threatening the competitive position of many companies. Those companies who have not developed a reputation as an 'employer-of-choice' and who have not developed the capabilities and infrastructure to retain scarce talent resources are facing a challenge of existence.

The objective of Talent Management should be to identify the right talent and engage them by design and not default.

It is in this perspective ASSOCHAM along with Watson Wyatt India and SearchWorks India is organizing a half-day conference exploring the talent jigsaw on 30th January 2007 in Ballroom, Hotel Leela Kempinski, Sahar, Andheri (E), Mumbai. The conference will be addressed by Ms. Chuly Lee, Vice President & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Watson Wyatt Worldwide apart from distinguished speakers from the HR fraternity. We invite you to attend the conference & also nominate couple of your colleagues for the same. A copy of programme contents & registration form is attached.
