WEST DES MOINES, IOWA, February 22, 2006 -- GeoLearning, Inc., the leading provider of Managed Learning Services and hosted learning platforms, announced today that the
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has selected the GeoMaestro Learning Management System (LMS) to improve the agency´s return on training investment, maintain and augment its institutional knowledge, and support its human capital goal of "getting the right people in the right place, doing the right work, at the right time, with the right knowledge, skills and experience necessary to pursue U.S. national interest abroad."
GeoLearning´s Software as a Service (SaaS) model means its GeoMaestro Learning Management Suite is delivered entirely over the Internet. The Internet-hosted learning management platform enable organizations to capture, create, manage and share knowledge to improve workforce productivity, accelerate critical business processes, and drive organizational performance. The system centralizes and automates the entire learning management process, making the administration of enterprise learning and development both effective and efficient. The GeoLearning platform is also compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires all federal agencies to implement information technology accessible to persons with disabilities.
"USAID, like many other civilian agencies, confronts high levels of retirements over the next five years, particularly among the most senior, experienced, and hard to-replace employees," said Frank Russell, president and CEO of GeoLearning. "Codifying and retaining this knowledge requires innovative knowledge management strategies and retention capabilities, such as mentoring, learning on demand, coaching and knowledge harvesting."
"The LMS implementation is important to the agency," said a USAID spokesperson, "because many issues can be greatly mitigated with a properly designed and implemented training platform and learning architecture."
In addition to the GeoMaestro learning management platform, USAID will also deploy the following GeoLearning modules:
GeoLearning will also provide Internet hosting, security and maintenance services, vendor management, professional services, and Help Desk support for USAID employees and administrators as part of the learning services contract.
