Delegates came from a wide range of disciplines from chemists, engineers and psychologists focusing on developing multi-disciplined research approach and create innovative research proposals for funding. By the second day the whole research group had created over 500 potential ideas for research in under two days of the programme. The group split into different research teams and focused on 5 major research project proposals. After presenting the research proposals to the IMRC committee one project was awarded £1 million funding and another £150,000 to further develop the proposal.
