NEW YORK (January 18, 2006) - Thousands of senior-level job seekers had the unique opportunity to garner insight from recruiting industry experts during SeekWeek 2006, a new signature event sponsored by TheLadders.com, the world´s leading online job search service for $100,000 jobs. The virtual event amassed over 6,800 registrations for the week of January 9th through 13th, far exceeding the event´s capacity. The presentations from the inaugural Webinar series are available for viewing at http://online-e-vents.com/theladders/seekweek.
Featuring top recruiters and industry insiders, SeekWeek 2006 was designed to provide job seekers with the crucial information they need to manage a successful job search from understanding how to utilize today´s recruiting tools through assimilating into a new organization. In response to SeekWeek´s tremendous turnout, TheLadders.com will be affirming its commitment to helping job seekers find the best six-figure jobs by upgrading 100 active subscribers of the company´s free, basic service to a three-month premium membership.
"Realizing how rare the opportunity is to get this level of insight from industry leaders, executive job seekers turned out in droves to attend SeekWeek 2006," said Marc Cenedella, CEO of TheLadders.com. "Our goal is to make the job search easier and faster, and we are excited to offer 100 of our active, free subscribers the opportunity to access our premium service for free to find their dream job in 2006."
Cenedella continued, "The number of SeekWeek registrants is proof positive that senior-level talent has already begun to weigh their options in 2006. As our recent employment outlook survey shows, for many professionals, this means seeking employment outside of their current employer to fulfill their career aspirations."
SeekWeek 2006 was developed in response to the quarterly executive employment outlook survey conducted in November 2005 by TheLadders.com. Of the 1,322 professionals surveyed, 64 percent of respondents felt it was not very or not at all likely that they would reach their career goals at their current company. However, an average of 66 percent of workforce professionals expressed extreme confidence that they could fulfill their career objectives with another employer.
SeekWeek 2006 provided attendees with a rich source of practical information about online recruiting, best practices, research and perspectives. The one-hour Webinars started on Monday with the "Recruiters Speak!" session, featuring Sarah George, senior vice president of Recruiting and Business Strategy at Wachovia, Emily Lerner, human resources manager at Zagat Survey, and Kent Burns, partner, MRINETWORK, discussing the ins-and-outs of recruiting today from three distinct vantage points.
Tuesday´s Webinar session, "Managing Your Many Faces," featured top personal branding consultants and resume writers, Kirsten Dixson, founding partner of Brandego LLC, William Arruda, president of Reach Communications Consulting, Inc., and Deb Dib, president of Executive Power Group. This session offered strategic details about personal branding, and Mr. Arruda offered attendees a free personal branding workbook. Details about accessing the workbook are available through the archived event. Although attending SeekWeek 2006 and accessing the archived Webinars are free, one attendee was so impressed with the day´s session that he commented, "This Webinar was worth the price of the entire ´Ladders´ subscription."
Wednesday´s Webinar, "Job Search 2006: Best Practices," was presented by Tony Lee, publisher of CareerJournal.com, an exclusive partner of TheLadders.com, and CollegeJournal.com, Samer Hamedeh, founder and CEO of Vault.com, and Mike Metzger, CEO of Payscale.com. This session provided attendees with the tactics and best practices for job search management in the new millennium.
Presenting on Thursday was Heather Hamilton, staffing programs manager at Microsoft Corporation, industry expert Kevin Marasco, vice president of Marketing at Recruitmax, and Dwaine Maltais, vice president, e-recruiting Solutions, Bernard Hodes Group. During "The Changing Face of Online Recruiting," each presenter explored the impact of the online environment on the job search, as well as future evolutions and ways job seekers can effectively navigate the online world.
The final SeekWeek 2006 Webinar session, "You´ve Gotten Your Dream Job, Now What?" gave attendees insider information and perspectives on career fulfillment, management and networking for continued career success from industry leaders John Hotard, Fordham University´s Career Planning and Placement director, Keith Mullin, CEO of Mullin and Associates Lincolnshire International, and Jan Margolis, managing director and co-founder of Applied Research Corporation.
