Thomas Jones to head Mercer's Performance Measurement global service segment

Thomas P. Jones, an expert in shareholder value creation with nearly 20 years of financial management experience, has joined Mercer Human Resource Consulting and been named leader of the firm´s Performance Measurement service segment. Mr. Jones is based in New York.

New Yourk, Thomas P. Jones, an expert in shareholder value creation with nearly 20 years of financial management experience, has joined Mercer Human Resource Consulting and been named leader of the firm´s Performance Measurement service segment. Mr. Jones is based in New York.

Mercer´s Performance Measurement segment is part of its Human Capital business. Mercer´s consultants in this area help clients design performance measurement strategies, often linked to reward systems that drive organizational excellence. The activities include performance measurement selection and definition, target setting, and calibration of pay levels to performance results.

Mr. Jones brings to Mercer vast international experience in designing and implementing performance management frameworks that focus on maximizing shareholder value for corporations. He spent seven years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. As a partner and director of the firm´s Shareholder Value Management consulting business, he developed and led an international practice with goals that included optimizing performance management, financial infrastructure, pay-for-performance incentives, and investor relations management.

Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Jones was Global Director of Economic Value Management Strategy at KPMG Peat Marwick. Earlier, he was a senior vice president and middle market practice leader at Stern, Stewart & Company. Mr. Jones led the turnaround of that firm´s struggling software and corporate training division, with dramatic increases in revenue and profits over a two-year period. He also designed, marketed, and led corporate training offerings for senior managers on strategic analysis, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and shareholder value management.

Mr. Jones received an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a BS in Life Sciences.
