The Weather Channel Names Sylvia Taylor as Executive Vice President of Human Resources

The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) has named Sylvia Taylor as executive vice president of human resources. Taylor is based in the company’s Atlanta headquarters and reports to Jerry Elliott, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer for TWCC.
ATLANTA (March 8, 2010) – The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) has named Sylvia Taylor as executive vice president of human resources. Taylor is based in the company’s Atlanta headquarters and reports to Jerry Elliott, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer for TWCC.

In making the announcement, Elliott said “Sylvia is a seasoned professional who is known for her strategic approach to HR. She will have a significant role in the future growth of our company, investing in our people and recruiting and retaining top talent a TWCC.”

Taylor brings more than twenty five years of strategic and operational HR experience in all functional areas of HR.  Most recently, Taylor served as vice president of human resources at AutoTrader.com, the Internet’s leading auto classifieds marketplace and a division of Cox Communications. Before joining AutoTrader.com in 2004, Taylor spent the majority of her career at Fortune 500 corporations such as PepsiCo, General Motors and ExxonMobil.

Taylor attended Howard University where she earned both a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in business administration.
