ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. (November 14, 2006) – The Janis Group Inc. (JGI), a professional services firm specializing in implementation services for Human Capital Management, Financial, and Supply Chain systems, as well as Business Intelligence and Enterprise Reporting Solutions, today announced it has sold its software division, returning their business focus solely to Professional Services.
The new software company has been named HCR Software Solutions and is committed to resolving complex workforce issues – such as compensation and performance management – using the latest technology-based solutions. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Both companies are privately held.
In 2005, JGI formed the HCR division and began the development of several HR-centric software products that are designed to improve and enhance the ways that organizations approach paper-based processes. SalaryXL, a salary planning application, and PerformanceXL, a performance management application, were the company’s first formal software products. Both products have been well received by customers, many of which are market leaders seeking to automate business processes and drive productivity gains within their respective organizations.
“For the past 24 years, JGI’s core business has been providing application solutions and related professional services and, to that end, has partnered with many of the world’s leading software vendors and service providers,” said Mike Janis, Founder and Principal of JGI and now CEO of HCR. “As such, JGI has built a solid reputation in the services end of HR, financial, and business intelligence solutions, and it seemed a logical step to move the software development business into a separate legal entity,” explained Mr. Janis.
George DiGrandi is now JGI’s CEO. He commented, “Moving our software business to HCR under Mike’s guidance is a logical step for our company. Mike is a successful entrepreneur who has built a number of companies with software sales and development at their core. This move will allow JGI to focus on its core strength, providing quality systems integration service to our customers.” DiGrandi added that Janis remains on the board of JGI.
