TORONTO, January 31, 2007
Today, the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPAO) unveiled HR eSource™ at the 2007 Annual HRPAO Conference & Trade Show.

HR eSource is an innovative, easy-to-use e-learning solution available online or on CD-ROM for anyone requiring the latest training in human resources management (HRM). The program will provide business owners and managers with the tools necessary to attract and retain a skilled workforce, thereby contributing to their organization’s success.

HR eSource is comprised of 40 bilingual modules, which take approximately 30 minutes each to complete. The modules cover such topics as recruitment, training & development, pay & benefits, and health & safety. A complete list of modules is available at www.HReSource.ca.

With HR eSource, participants progress through each interactive module according to their own schedule and needs. Leading human resources experts and HR professionals collaborated to ensure that the HR eSource content is up-to-date and relevant to today’s HR issues.

The primary audience for HR eSource is small and medium enterprises (SMEs) but also and people managers in larger organizations. “SME managers are often multi-talented individuals and entrepreneurs without specific training in HRM. HR eSource provides SME managers with a general foundation in HR best practices in a way that recognizes their fast-paced learning needs. Taking individual modules when required is a helpful solution to non-HR managers who require information in an effective and timely manner,” said Bill Greenhalgh, CEO, HRPAO.

Human Resources and Skills Development Canada/Labour Program funded a three-year project through a grant from the Labour Market Partnerships Program (LMPP). The LMPP is designed to encourage and support employers, employee and/or employer associations and communities to improve their capacity for dealing with human resources requirements and issues.

In addition, HRPAO worked with the Learning Library Inc. on the technical development aspects of the system, and Benchmark Performance Inc. to create the content. The result, HR eSource, was developed and delivered ahead of schedule and on budget.
