Washington D.C., June 5, 2008 – The FutureWork Institute, Inc.® (FWI), a leading global workplace diversity consultancy, today announced it has entered into a strategic alliance with The National MultiCultural Institute (NMCI), a non-profit organization that works with individuals, organizations and communities on a range of multicultural issues. The alliance marks the first time a leading global diversity consulting firm has aligned with a leading non-profit, combining the experience of both like-minded organizations.
FWI, originally founded as the Global Diversity Practice at global workplace consultancy Towers Perrin, conducts global research and analysis for large corporate clients while the NMCI offers training and consulting services, organizes conferences and develops publications targeted at the non-profit community. FWI operates in Europe, Latin America, Asia and North America. NMCI focuses its efforts in the U.S. market but attracts workshop participants from around the world.
As a result of this collaboration, NMCI will expand its offering to include several additional services to its clients. NMCI will now provide a diversity executive on loan to institutions that need interim leadership to start or sustain diversity efforts. It will also expand its conference sessions on the future of healthcare, education and not-for-profits and create a curriculum to train the next generation of diversity leaders. As an added benefit of this alliance, NMCI will also be able to provide its clients with a place in the 3-D virtual world for affinity groups to meet and for client staff to engage in diversity and inclusion simulations.
“We are thrilled to enter into this strategic alliance with Margaret Regan and The FutureWork Institute,” said Elizabeth P. Salett, President, NMCI. “FWI brings an important new dimension to NMCI that will help us to execute our core mission of creating a more inclusive society as well as enable us to operate on a global scale.”
In November, FWI will co-sponsor the semi-annual NMCI National Conference. Ms. Regan will deliver the keynote address on future workforce and marketplace trends, highlighted by a journey into the virtual world of Web 2.0. The conference will feature NMCI’s workshops on training of diversity trainers, cultural competency and strategic diversity initiatives, while FWI consultants will provide a series of diversity and inclusion workshops as well as separate tracks on the future workplace and marketplace trends in healthcare, education, not-for-profit and corporate environments.
