In March 2010 The Executive Search Group conducted the company conducted an online survey of 7,800 U.S. executives, asking 9 brief questions related to gender equity in the workplace. More than 600 people responded, and a majority thought that their employer does “get it.”“The top take-away is that, although research shows gender equity pays off, and although many employers have the right goals regarding gender equity in talent acquisition efforts and business succession planning, in practice something is missing,” said e-book author and chief executive officer of The Executive Search Group LLC Tim McIntyre.
For example: of the 600 people who responded to The Executive Search Group’s Women in Leadership Roles 2010 Survey, 78 percent rated their current employer as either a good or excellent gender-diverse place to work compared to other places they have worked; but 49 percent of the female executives who responded to the survey said they had considered leaving their employers for the lack of advancement opportunities.
