Nov. 5, 2007. . . The Conference Board announced today that James H. Slamp has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Slamp replaces the retiring George Convery, who served The Conference Board for 50 years.

Jonathan Spector, CEO of The Conference Board, said: “We are fortunate to have someone with Jim’s talent and abilities steering our finance department as The Conference Board moves into new territories – geographically and substantively – over the next few years.”
Slamp began his career in public accounting, working at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 13 years, serving corporate clients delivering and managing accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services. In 1990, he became the Corporate Controller for Ivex Packaging Corporation (since acquired by Alcoa) and, later, for Diamond Management and Technology Consultants, Inc.
