Dublin, Calif., & Toronto - July 26, 2006 - Taleo Corporation (Nasdaq: TLEO), the leading provider of on demand talent management solutions, today announced the University of Toronto has selected Taleo´s talent management solutions to help recruit and assess employees for all three of its campuses. With the addition of the University of Toronto, Taleo now delivers its talent management solutions to more than 50 Canadian companies across a variety of industries including public sector, financial services, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, technology, and telecommunications.
The University of Toronto is Canada´s leading and most distinguished university, with approximately 70,000 students, 10,000 faculty and staff and teaching programs in 17 academic divisions. The University ranks among the top research universities in North America, operates three major campuses in the greater Toronto area and is affiliated with ten teaching hospitals.
The University of Toronto selected Taleo to streamline its recruitment processes and ensure it continues to hire the most qualified candidates from as diverse a pool as possible. The new online system will reduce the time and ´administrivia´ associated with its previous manual recruiting and hiring process and will assist the University to reach a broader, more diverse pool of candidates. Because the application and hiring process directly impacts an applicant´s experience of the University, U of T wanted to ensure a high level of service for all potential employees.
"It´s important in an increasingly competitive environment that we continue to hire and retain the most qualified staff to help us deliver an outstanding learning and research experience throughout the University," said Angela Hildyard, U of T´s vice president (human resources and equity). "By enhancing the delivery of our application and recruitment process for staff, Taleo´s solutions will help us accomplish this goal."
Taleo´s talent management solutions will also help the University better promote its current policy of first opening positions to certain groups of employees. This concept, called "Internal Mobility" helps organizations quickly fill positions internally with qualified candidates who already have a solid understanding of the business and skills required for the job, resulting in decreased time to productivity and increased cost savings. It will also assist the University´s current employees´ career development.
"We welcome the University of Toronto to our growing Canadian customer base and look forward to partnering with them in their talent management efforts," said Michael Gregoire, president and CEO, Taleo. "In today´s market, success is increasingly dependent on the ability to assess, acquire, develop and align top talent and now, more than ever, educational institutes are realizing the importance of this. We commend the University of Toronto as a thought leader and visionary to ensure that its talent continues to drive the performance of the University."
