SumTotal Systems, CollabWorx Offer Secure Solution for Department of Defense

The integrated SumTotal and CollabWorx platform links SumTotal's Enterprise Suite 7.1 for delivering and analyzing learning via the Internet with CollabWorx's Secure Real-Time Collaboration (SRTC) suite 3.0, which includes enterprise-class audio and video conferencing, a "presence engine," chat, instant messaging and document-sharing tools.

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29,
2005--SumTotal(TM) Systems (NASDAQ:SUMT), the largest provider of
learning and business performance technologies and services, and
CollabWorx, a developer of cutting-edge collaboration solutions,
announced a strategic partnership for delivering secure,
mission-critical learning and development programs to U.S. Department
of Defense (DoD) personnel.

The integrated SumTotal and CollabWorx platform links SumTotal's
Enterprise Suite 7.1 for delivering and analyzing learning via the
Internet with CollabWorx's Secure Real-Time Collaboration (SRTC) suite
3.0, which includes enterprise-class audio and video conferencing, a
"presence engine," chat, instant messaging and document-sharing tools.
The combined offering will help not only SumTotal's U.S. military
customers -- which include the Defense Ammunition Center, Defense
Acquisition University, North American Aerospace Defense Command
(NORAD) and United States Northern Command -- but also pique the
interest of prospective buyers who heretofore have not found a
platform for learning management with a military-grade, real-time
collaboration component.

"This partnership marks an important relationship for servicing
DoD clients, and creates a relationship that will improve learning and
collaboration in secure enterprise environments," said Peter
McStravick, Learning Services program analyst for IDC, a leading
provider of global IT research and advice. "It's certainly the
benchmark by which other vendors who work within sensitive
environments should measure themselves."

According to CollabWorx, on August 1, 2005, the U.S. Army Network
Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) issued a certificate of
"networthiness" for the CollabWorx SRTC suite 3.0. Also on that date,
NETCOM and the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) gave
CollabWorx "full authority to operate" (ATO) on the TRADOC network.
With anything less than full ATO, a vendor can run on the TRADOC
network for no more than 12 months.

Army personnel can tap the CollabWorx solution via the Internet to
contact anyone within the Army Training Support Center's reach. And
they can do this with the assurance that all associated security meets
NETCOM's rigid testing.

"We can now offer government customers, especially military
schools, our suite and a web services capability to integrate with an
online, secure collaboration tool that reaches deployed personnel and
taps key lessons learned," said Jim Gill, SumTotal Systems' director
of government solutions. "We believe this will shorten the time span
between capturing lessons learned and developing doctrine and
curricula. We feel this capability is critical to preparing our
government customers for current and future operational success."

The SumTotal Enterprise Suite combines the industry's leading
learning management system (LMS), learning content management system
(LCMS), virtual classroom service (VCS) and a unique dashboard
measurement system on a single, integrated platform.

"We see SumTotal as the preferred learning platform among U.S.
Army schools. And, to serve our military customers, we always look to
align ourselves with the leading providers of software to not only the
Army but also the DoD," said Bart Winnowicz, vice president of
business development for CollabWorx, Inc. "We believe our partnership
with SumTotal offers DoD a team that has the premier certification for
collaboration technologies as well as a learning management platform
in use by every branch of the U.S. military."

DoD customers attending the Interservice/Industry Training,
Simulation & Education Conference (I/ITSEC) from Nov. 28 - Dec. 1,
2005, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., can
learn more about the CollabWorx-SumTotal partnership by visiting booth
#1022.
