Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Fuels Global Knowledge-Sharing Initiative with SumTotal Enterprise Suite

C&S is a joint venture between Computer Associates and SatyamComputer Services.

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 2006--SumTotal(TM)
Systems (Nasdaq:SUMT), and its partner C&S signed a contract with
Satyam Computer Services Ltd. -- a leading global consulting and IT
services company -- to make SumTotal Enterprise Suite the backbone for
the Satyam Learning Center (SLC). SLC delivers nearly two million
hours of education each year to 28,000 IT professionals in 55
countries.
C&S is a joint venture between Computer Associates and Satyam
Computer Services. C&S has a strategic partnership with SumTotal to
resell and implement the SumTotal Enterprise Suite.
Satyam has identified knowledge management as an organization-wide
initiative to bridge the information and knowledge gaps among Satyam's
global associates.
Also, to keep pace with the opportunities in its industry, Satyam
has realized the importance of providing support services in a virtual
manner to its customer-facing units. To achieve this goal, Satyam has
"virtualized" an array of administrative, financial and HR processes
through an organization-wide portal named "eSupport."
The company sees SumTotal's software solution as a key enterprise
application to enable these two enterprise-wide initiatives. This will
enable associates to focus on what is critical: serving customers by
addressing their needs in a proactive manner.
Satyam will be implementing SumTotal's solution across all of the
global consulting and IT services firm's locations.
"SumTotal Enterprise Suite gives us superior capabilities to
deploy and administer these new learning initiatives with much more
scalability and flexibility," said Ed Cohen, senior vice president of
Satyam Computer Services Ltd. "The solution also provides the ability
to set up and run various domains, courses and audiences for a
globally distributed organization, such as ours, with operations
across six continents."
"We believe that SumTotal's solutions will align our
knowledge-sharing programs and spending with corporate initiatives for
future growth," added Cohen.
"We feel that Indian organizations in the financial services,
telecommunications, retail, IT services and ITES sectors, who are
expanding rapidly, will be able to differentiate themselves from the
competition by investing in SumTotal's solutions to improve employee
productivity," said Sudheer Koneru, managing director, India, SumTotal
Systems, Inc. "As a global leader in this marketplace, SumTotal stands
committed to bringing the best of breed talent and business
performance management solutions to India to cater to the need of
Indian organizations."
