RiseSmart Names Jack Phillips Vice President of Sales

Veteran sales management executive joins fast-growing provider
SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 8, 2010) – RiseSmart, a leading provider of Web-enabled outplacement and job search services, today announced that it has named Jack Phillips its vice president of sales.  In this role, Phillips will direct RiseSmart’s sales team and strategy to build market share for Transition Concierge 3.0, the company’s next-generation outplacement solution, as well as its soon-to-be-launched recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) solution.
 “Jack is a seasoned executive with an extensive background in the sales and delivery of strategic outsourcing solutions serving the HR function, including RPO, Software as a Service (SaaS), and technology support services,” said Sanjay Sathe, founder and CEO of RiseSmart. “In particular, he brings an impressive record of working with C-level executives to identify and address their talent management challenges.  He is a valuable addition to the RiseSmart management team.”

Phillips brings more than 20 years of strategic sales and business development experience to his new role.  Previously, Phillips served as director of business development for Agile-1, a provider of end-to-end workforce solutions, where he was responsible for the sales of consulting, SaaS, and professional services in support of human capital management and talent acquisition offerings.

Prior to Agile-1, Phillips was vice president of sales and client services for Accolo, a leader in the RPO arena. Phillips helped increase revenues eightfold and led the growth of the organization from fewer than 10 to more than 70 employees.  He was instrumental in building Accolo’s infrastructure to support the scaling of training, marketing, sales process methodology and professional services, while dramatically increasing its portfolio of long-term, contractual client engagements.

Before Accolo, Phillips led the northwest region of Spherion’s professional services organization, a $35 million operation. He also served as area sales director for Alternative Resources Corporation, a provider of outsourced staffing services.

Phillips received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
