SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 13, 2010) – RiseSmart, a leading provider of Web-enabled outplacement and job search services, today announced that it has named Howard Fertig regional vice president for the northeast United States. Based in New York City, he will report to Jack Phillips, vice president of sales.
“Howard comes to RiseSmart with more than 15 years of experience in sales management, and has significant domain expertise in HR and talent management,” said Sanjay Sathe, founder and CEO of RiseSmart. “We expect him to be a key contributor as we strive to build market share for our outplacement and recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) solutions.”
Most recently, Fertig served as global account director for Globoforce Inc., a leading provider of employee recognition solutions to Global 2000 companies. Previously, he was sales director for BrassRing, the talent management solutions provider, and served as a sales executive at Berlitz International. In his career, Fertig has provided recruitment, compensation and training solutions to the human resources organizations of clients including General Electric, IBM, American Express, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Citigroup, Comcast, Honeywell, and Thomson Reuters.
Fertig has presented at conferences, seminars and workshops on the benefits of non-cash compensation, workforce development, global training and relocation. He is a member of the New York Compensation Association (NYCA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Fertig holds a master’s degree in education from Queens College and a bachelor’s in communications/education from Pratt Institute.
