Restaurants Achieve Benefits with Core UltiPro, Manager Self-Service, and UltiPro Recruitment

With approximately 8,500 employees working in 144 company-owned stores, Buffalo Wild Wings International had been using a service bureau prior to UltiPro.
    WESTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2007--Ultimate Software
(Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of end-to-end strategic human
resources, payroll, and talent management solutions, announced today
that three of its restaurant customers, Buffalo Wild Wings
International, Boudin Bakery & Cafe, and Sizzling Platter LLC, are
experiencing efficiencies and strategic value as a result of core
UltiPro, manager self-service with business intelligence, and UltiPro
Recruitment.

With approximately 8,500 employees working in 144 company-owned
stores, Buffalo Wild Wings International had been using a service
bureau prior to UltiPro. The company went "live" on UltiPro in 2003
and is using UltiPro Recruitment and self-service to automate
processes and enhance talent acquisition efforts. With UltiPro
Recruitment, Buffalo Wild Wings' HR team develops job requisitions
that are pushed out through UltiPro to the appropriate executive for
approval. Candidates apply online using the restaurant's career portal
located on Buffalo Wild Wings' corporate Web site, and communication
with applicants is automated over the Internet. Once a candidate is
selected, the new hire's personal data is quickly and easily
transferred into core UltiPro, eliminating the need to reenter key
details.

"UltiPro Recruitment has made a tremendous difference for us
because it has taken transactions from paper to electronic, so
everything moves more rapidly to reduce our time-to-hire while also
helping us provide information to our team members in the field more
efficiently," said Michelle Kent, compensation and human resource
management system (HRMS) manager for Buffalo Wild Wings. "Using
UltiPro's manager and employee self-service, we have added even
greater value by using the system to let store managers handle new
hires, job changes, and terminations online instead of doing
everything with paper. Employees are also able to update their own
direct deposit information and pull year-to-date payroll histories
either from their office or home computer using the Internet."

A famous bakery with approximately 1,200 employees based in San
Francisco, California, and known for its sourdough bread, Boudin
Bakery & Cafe is using manager self-service to improve service to
employees and reduce the time the HR department spends on tactical
activities. Having 28 locations throughout California, including
Fisherman's Wharf near San Francisco Bay and Disney's California
Adventure Park, Boudin Bakery rolled out UltiPro's manager
self-service in January 2007 and is experiencing significant
efficiencies.

"Manager self-service has alleviated the workload on HR because
managers can access information and handle many processes with UltiPro
on their own," said Laura Stevenson, payroll manager for Boudin
Bakery. "HR still approves key actions, but UltiPro's manager
self-service has empowered our restaurant leadership to be more
involved in, and to have a better understanding of, the
employee-focused procedures that affect their staff every day."

In order to give HR the time it needs to deal with industry labor
shortfalls, Sizzling Platter rolled out manager self-service after an
on-time, on-budget implementation in 2005. Sizzling Platter LLC is a
management company with approximately 2,200 employees at 34
restaurants, including Sizzler, Red Robin, Ruby River Steakhouse,
Spaghetti Mama's, and Hoppers. UltiPro has helped the restaurant
management company mitigate the challenges of misplaced paperwork and
unnecessary delays, while streamlining daily time-consuming activities
like making pay-rate changes because managers can process them online
and the changes are applied in real-time.

"We can have as many as 100 pay-rate changes per pay period, and
if employees request a job change or deserve a salary increase, we
want to take action quickly to keep them happy, regardless of how much
administrative effort is required," said Julie Trease, employee
relations manager for Sizzling Platter. "With UltiPro, the
administrative work for pay increases and other processes has dropped
to a minimum for HR, so my group has more time to focus on creating
the kind of workplace where people want to work rather than keeping
track of paper."

Maintaining employee satisfaction and increasing employee
retention are often particularly important to restaurant leaders
because the restaurant industry as a whole has relatively high
turnover and is a competitive labor market. Using UltiPro, Sizzling
Platter has created reports to calculate turnover rates by restaurant,
training costs per new hire, and weighted average hourly pay rates so
that the company has the metrics required for making decisions to keep
retention high while keeping labor costs in check.

"The restaurant industry's labor market is very tight, so finding
and keeping good employees is critical for us to control costs," said
Trease. "UltiPro helps our leadership determine the causes and costs
of turnover so that they can minimize the impact to the business.
Sizzling Platter has some employees who work four or five jobs with
different pay rates in a single pay period, so we needed an HRMS that
could handle that level of complexity, not just for payroll, but also
for reporting. We found that solution in UltiPro."

"Ultimate Software's restaurant customers range from fine dining
chains like Ruth's Chris Steak House to fast casual like Texas
Roadhouse. Many have a geographically dispersed workforce, concerns
about employee turnover, and complex payroll models, and they all seem
pleased with UltiPro's flexibility and the overall business value they
gain with the solution," said Greg Swick, senior vice president of
sales for Ultimate Software. "We are pleased to be working with
Buffalo Wild Wings, Boudin Bakery & Cafe, and Sizzling Platter to
address their challenges."
