Recruiters See Job Growth Increasing Through Summer

With No Signs Of A Slowdown In Sight, Search Firms Add Staff
www.execunet.com – April 30, 2007 – Buoyed by better than expected corporate profits, ExecuNet’s Recruiter Confidence Index increased in April, as search firms continue to aggressively add staff to keep pace with a strong executive employment market.

Introduced in May 2003, the Recruiter Confidence Index is based on a monthly survey of thousands of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet (www.execunet.com), the leading executive career, business and recruiting network.  Independent analysis of the RCI has confirmed it is a leading indicator for the executive search industry.

According to April’s survey of 156 executive recruiters, 68% are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months – up slightly from 67% one month ago.

Confidence In The Executive Employment Market

Next Six Months

“The executive employment market is on a roll,” says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet.  “While growth in executive-level hiring continues to defy skeptics, the expansion of the executive search industry is proof recruiters are putting their money where their mouths are.”

Recruiters’ short-term outlook was also positive in April, as 69% said they are confident or very confident the employment market will improve in the next three months.  During this period of time, the executive recruiting industry is expecting a 21% increase in the number of assignments received from clients.

Optimism in the executive recruiting industry is well supported by search firm hiring.  In April, more than half of all search firms (54%) reported plans to hire additional professional staff during the next three months and 35% said their organization’s headcount increased in the previous three months.
