May 2, 2006 - For a company that works tirelessly every day of the year to promote the greater value of military veterans, there are few months like May and even fewer days like Memorial Day.

Showcasing these qualities will be the MilitaryStars Southeast Regional Career Expo in Jacksonville, FL on May 25, 2006. Turnout at the last MilitaryStars event in Jacksonville yielded over 400 highly qualified military candidates looking for civilian careers, and over 1,300 registered candidates from that event alone were available for employers to consider for job opportunities throughout the southeast region and the country as a whole.
"Employers need to take advantage of our events as a best practice mode for sourcing intermediate to large staffing needs in their companies. These military veterans have served honorably, and gained dramatic proficiencies that do translate into civilian commerce and industry. This is why MilitaryStars deploys military talent to corporate America.
"It´s truly saddening to us as a company that Department of Labor statistics tell us that veterans have twice the unemployment rates of their civilian counterparts. What´s even sadder is that this has occurred while military veterans comprise the second largest renewable labor pool in the U.S. We´re striving to change this trend, and equally are imploring companies to join us in recognizing the talents and beneficial traits that veterans possess," said Hecht.
Virtually all employers that attended the last career expo in Jacksonville enthusiastically endorsed the event, and many - including Lockheed Martin, Crane Pro Services, KBR, Intel Corporation and Military Sealift Command - have either signed national contracts or are signed to attend multiple events throughout 2006.
Following the Jacksonville expo, MilitaryStars will immediately flip coasts to San Diego and its Western Regional Career Expo on June 1, 2006.
