With more than 50 companies and over 500 military veterans and Top Secret cleared candidates in attendance, MilitaryStars, the nation´s premier military career expo company, hosted a dual Eastern Regional Career Expo and Top Secret Career Expo in Baltimore, MD on November 16th, 2005.
"The response we´ve received from employers and candidates alike is incredible," said MilitaryStars CEO Hal Fischer. "At our events, military veterans are getting quality jobs upon their return from service. Throughout the nation, companies are continually striving to find top-caliber talent. We´ve accommodated these needs from both sides of the employment spectrum."
This is because MilitaryStars approaches these hiring events in a way unlike any other company in the industry. From its grass-roots approach to candidates to its best practice customer service for clients, MilitaryStars is raising the bar in the post-military recruiting market.
"The events went well," said a Lockheed Martin spokesperson. "The [Top Secret] Event in particular, had top quality candidates, completely cleared and ready to go to work. This saves Lockheed Martin time and money when placing them in special programs . . . Both events were a success."
"Our customer service-oriented approach to hiring events translates seamlessly into the parallel security clearance career expo market. Our employers unanimously noted that there were more top quality candidates at this event than at any other Top Secret hiring event they´ve attended," said Fischer, also noting that event co-sponsors Monster and Military.com were very pleased with the success of the event.
"This has been the most fulfilling career [expo] we have participated in for the past six months," said a representative from Brinks Home Security.
Ameriprise Financial echoed a similar sentiment: "Whenever you can put a spin on the age old career fair, it is refreshing."
Candidates found the events refreshing as well. "It was a great experience for any military personnel about to leave the service," said one transitioning military candidate.
Another security-cleared job seeker noted that the Top Secret Career Expo was a "great streamlined opportunity to speak one-on-one with companies interested in helping you find a good fit professionally."
Employers - ranging from companies like KBR, Lockheed Martin, Military Sealift Command and Baxter Healthcare, to government agencies like the DIA, FBI, NSA and US Customs & Border Protection - found the target-rich recruiting environment extremely satisfying for their hiring needs.
MilitaryStars, a veteran-owned military hiring event company, furthers its mission to assist transitioning military and veterans in finding civilian jobs via career expos throughout the United States. The next hiring events will be the Southeast Regional Career Expo in Jacksonville, FL on December 7th, to be followed by another Eastern Regional Career Expo in Washington, DC on January 11th, 2006.
