CHARLTON, Mass., April 3, 2009 – Instead of competing with other experienced professionals who are looking for jobs, Anne Ide is helping the competition find jobs.
She created ProSourcEXP.com (www.ProSourcEXP.com <http://www.ProSourcEXP.com> ) as an on-line community to help experienced professionals, with at least 15 years of experience, connect with employers for contract work, consulting, per diem projects and other temporary work.
“I know what it’s like to be a professional who is middle aged, out of work and competing for a job in an oversaturated market,” Ms. Ide said, “so I can relate to what others are going through.”
When Ide was laid off from her job as director of business development for an employee training and development company, she found that temporary agencies couldn’t place her because she was overqualified. While she had valuable experience, her income needs were higher than those that an entry level person would require.
Frustrated by the lack of a company that could help her meet her work needs, she decided to start her own company to help others in the same position.
Professionals in any industry with at least 15 years of experience can sign up online for a three-month free trial and post a “functional resume,” which is a description of prior tasks accomplished and how they helped the employer and the type of work desired. Employers can post contract positions for a small fee and Professionals will be e-notified when a posting matches their background and can contact the Employer directly.
Ide said her business takes advantage of the growing trend toward contract work. She cites the U.S. Labor Department’s prediction that by 2010, 65% of the workforce will be contract workers, instead of permanent employees.
“Baby boomers are approaching retirement age,” she said, “but in many cases they either want to continue working or they have to because they do not have enough money saved for retirement. ProSourcEXP.com will help them find temporary work, while giving employers an opportunity to take advantage of their experience.”
Ms. Ide is no stranger to turning a need into a business. Dubbed the “mother of invention,” Ms. Ide invented the first patented baby wipes warmer, Comfy Wipe Warmer, the patented Food N Fun Tray and StrollSafe, all successfully marketed through her own company and licensed through other companies.
She has also worked in sales and marketing positions for companies in the telecommunications, printing, and employee training and development industries.
ProSourcEXP.com www.ProSourcEXP.com is an on-line jobs board and marketing service to help professionals in all industries with at least 15 years of experience find contract work, consulting, per diem projects or other temporary work.
