Promise Healthcare Achieves Business Value and Cost Savings with Intersourcing

With more than 2,300 staff members nationwide, Promise Healthcare manages 14 facilities in 6 states, delivering specialty care for patients requiring a longer acute-care recovery period.
   WESTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2007--Ultimate Software
(Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of end-to-end strategic human
resources, payroll, and talent management solutions, announced today
that its customer Promise Healthcare, Inc., one of the largest
long-term acute care hospitals in the country, is experiencing
dramatic improvements in analytical reporting, significant cost
savings, and organizational-wide benefits from self-service since
going "live" with UltiPro through Intersourcing in October 2006.

With more than 2,300 staff members nationwide, Promise Healthcare
manages 14 facilities in 6 states, delivering specialty care for
patients requiring a longer acute-care recovery period. The healthcare
provider was using a service bureau prior to Ultimate Software, but
after experiencing poor customer service, frequent errors, inadequate
functionality, and loss of control over its own processes and data,
Promise Healthcare switched to UltiPro delivered through the
Intersourcing service model. Today the healthcare organization is:

--  leveraging UltiPro's reporting to monitor staffing levels on a
pay-period basis, allocate labor costs properly, and better
prepare for visits from Joint Commission on Accreditation of
        Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) inspectors

--  estimating a hard cost savings of more than $400,000 over five
        years

--  receiving accolades from employees who are taking advantage of
        online employee self-service

Sonny Ramdeo, director of payroll and workforce systems for
Promise Healthcare, had used UltiPro with his previous company of
6,000 employees, and he was very familiar with Ultimate Software's
industry-recognized products, high-quality services, and reputation as
a leader in the industry. One of the reasons he recommended his new
employer consider Ultimate Software is UltiPro's standard and
customizable library of hundreds of reports. Promise Healthcare's
reporting needs include meeting JCAHO certification requirements in
order to receive reimbursement from Medicare. As part of the
accreditation, JCAHO sends surveyors on unannounced visits to
healthcare organizations to evaluate their operational practices and
facilities. With UltiPro, Ramdeo believes he is ready to respond to
requests for information at a moment's notice.

"UltiPro's reporting is adding tremendous value to Promise
Healthcare," said Ramdeo. "To remain JCAHO certified, we need to be
able to pull real-time details such as staffing ratios and employee
certifications in minutes, which is not a problem with UltiPro. With
our previous vendor, we could not get accurate reports, and there was
always a cost associated with them. Using UltiPro, our data is
accurate and readily accessible so that we can respond to internal and
external demands for information quickly."

As Promise Healthcare discovered, service bureaus often charge
fees for ad hoc reports that are out-dated and do not provide the
facts the organization really needs. Service bureaus may often bill
extra for items such as off-cycle checks or adding employees to the
system. Because organizations using UltiPro have in-house control of
all their workforce data at no extra cost beyond the standard monthly
price, Ramdeo is finding Ultimate Software to be a more cost-effective
means of addressing the full-scope of its payroll, human resources,
and talent management needs.

"Compared to the service bureau, we are anticipating a hard cost
savings of $400,000 over a 5-year period," said Ramdeo. "UltiPro's
predictable per-employee, per-month pricing has erased the sticker
shock we had at month's end with our previous provider."

Labor often constitutes the majority of operating costs for
healthcare organizations, so efficiencies in manpower can create
significant benefits. UltiPro's self-service automates activities by
giving employees Web access to their own human resources and payroll
specifics, reducing the need for HR to respond to emails and phone
calls while empowering employees. Associates at Promise Healthcare are
not only using self-service, but they are also sharing positive
feedback about it with management.

"Approximately 65 percent of our workforce is logging into UltiPro
every other week," said Ramdeo. "When I conduct my standard visits to
our locations, I regularly hear how much our people love UltiPro's Web
access. They say it's very convenient and easy to use. UltiPro has
been a positive experience for everyone at Promise Healthcare."

"We are pleased that Promise Healthcare has joined our increasing
number of healthcare customers. Ultimate Software continues to gain
market share in the healthcare industry because we can provide them
easy-to-use, readily accessible strategic tools and, at the same time,
help them control costs," said Greg Swick senior vice president of
sales for Ultimate Software. "Our software-as-a-service Intersourcing
delivery method is an especially smooth transition for those
healthcare organizations that previously used service bureaus since
they retain the convenience of a service model yet gain more
functionality and responsive customer support"
