HR Series: Talent Management to Reveal the Secret of Talent Management When Economy Strengthens

Jakarta, April 8 – In times of rebounding economy, strong and well-developed pools of talent are required. However, challenges persist and many establishments continue to face employee shortages and many key roles are still vacant.

Help is on the way. HR Series: Talent Management scheduled to be happening from July 20th – 21st, in Jakarta, Indonesia will highlight best practices from blue chips and companies that successfully address talent shortages, and outlines suggestions and recommendations to improve the skills of existing workforces and at the same time, attract highly skilled workers.

“Now is the best time for all of us to take a very close look at our talent, review and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of our human capital systems. What we need now is next generation of leaders with visions and strong strategic skills,” said Sangeetha Silvaratnam, Project Manager, HR Series: Talent Management, at  JFPS Group Malaysia.

The conference will feature Roger Collantes, Vice President and Regional Learning and Development Director, Asia Pacific Global Consumer Group, Citi.

Roger is responsible for leading the Learning and Development Strategy for Citi’s Cards, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, Mortgage Business and Personal Loans product groups. He is also the Managing Director of the Institute for Leadership Excellence and Accelerated Development (I-LEAD), Citi’s training consultancy Services Company established in China to serve the training needs of local financial services companies.

Prior to Citi, Roger held various leadership positions in the educational, public and private sectors. As an international professional speaker, he is a highly sought keynote speaker or conference chairman in regional and international conferences in the areas of strategic leadership development, talent management, multi-cultural development, wealth management training, sales motivation, service training, transformational change, experiential learning, online certification training, training evaluation and training management systems. In 1995, Roger was cited in the American Society for Training and Development’s “Who’s Who In Training”.

Cited to bring in the best from the field, the conference will also feature Hamidah Naziadin, Head of the Group’s Corporate Resources Division, CIMB Group, Malaysia.

A human resource practitioner for over 24 years in the financial industry covering the areas of commercial and investment banking, Hamidah joined CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd (now known as CIMBS Sdn Bhd), its stockbroking company in 1991. 10 years later, in line with the reorganization of CIMB Group, Hamidah moved to the Investment Bank to head, manage and integrate the overall group human resources and administration functions. Her portfolio expanded to include Knowledge Management department in 2004 and Sports & Recreation department in 2006. Prior to joining the Group, Hamidah was attached to another financial institution.

Hamidah’s responsibilities and experiences in human resource and administrative management includes among others, manpower planning, compensation and benefits, talent development, industrial relations, performance management as well as property management and procurement. Her notable achievements also include leading the human resource team to win the National HR Excellence Award 2002 and most recently, the Malaysian Best Employer Award 2008 (for Banking and Financial Services Institution), the Malaysian HR Excellence Gold Award 2008 and the Malaysian HR Excellence Grand Award 2008.
