Oneida Indian Nation Names Dana Sovocool Director of Human Resources

Dana Sovocool has been named Director of Human Resources for the Oneida Indian Nation. In this position, he oversees human resources for the Nation and all of its enterprises, including Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

Oneida Nation Homelands—Dana Sovocool has been named Director of Human Resources for the Oneida Indian Nation.  In this position, he oversees human resources for the Nation and all of  its enterprises, including Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

Sovocool originally joined the Oneida Nation in 1993 as a human resources specialist with the pre-opening team focusing on recruitment and training. His early responsibilities included recruiting gaming staff for Turning Stone Casino. He was promoted to team relations manager in 1998, initially overseeing employee relations and eventually taking responsibility for management of compensation and benefits. Sovocool was promoted to senior human resources manager in 2003, a position that put him in charge of employee relations at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. In addition, he managed of all of the Oneida Nation's employee benefits programs.

A graduate of the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, he also possesses a graduate certificate in Labor Relations from Cornell University’s School of Industrial Labor Relations. 

Sovocool resides in Liverpool, N.Y. and enjoys singing and performing regularly in Syracuse-area theatre.
