No Longer Afraid of the Job Market, Employed Professionals are Now Searching for New Jobs

FPC Workplace Web Poll Data indicates that while 22% of candidates searching for and applying for positions have been unemployed for over 6 months, a remarkable 32% of job searchers are currently employed.

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 22, 2010 -- FPC, a national executive search firm, polls job candidates visiting www.fpcnational.com on their perspective on workplace issues.

14,659 respondents surveyed between July 2009 and March 2010, across all industries and job levels answered the following questions:

“How long have you been unemployed and actively searching for a new position?”
15%   Less than a month
17%   1-3 months
15%   4-6 months
22%   Over 6 months
32%   I am not unemployed

Ron Herzog, CEO & President of FPC said, “This is shift from what we were seeing a year ago, when those who were employed were hunkered down in their positions, just happy to still have a job. Now, those people that have been working harder to cover the workload of laid off workers for the same compensation and they are burned out and want something new. Companies should realize that this shift is happening and do what they can to retain their top performers – or attract new talent.”
