SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – October 2, 2007 – Ninth House, Inc., the
leadership solutions company, is pleased to welcome James Sharpe to head
up the company’s federal efforts as Vice President, Federal Division.
Sharpe joins Ninth House from IBM with a formidable background in
learning and HR solutions and technologies. At IBM, Sharpe developed
and executed IBM’s global learning technology and solution strategies
resulting in significant global growth in consulting, systems
integration, custom content development and learning/HR outsourcing.
With over 16 years at IBM, Sharpe drove the growth of IBM’s e-learning
solutions business from the ground floor, including IBM’s Education and
Training transformation to IBM Learning Solutions, Mindspan Solutions
(joint brand between services and Lotus), and IBM’s Learning EBO
(Emerging Business Opportunity). Prior to IBM Sharpe was the Manager of
Advanced Systems for General Dynamics Tactical Systems Division.
Most recently Sharpe was IBM’s global Director of HR and Learning
Applications Technology within Business Transformation Outsourcing.
With more than 20 years experience in applying technology to transform
human performance and learning, he lead many of IBMs key learning
patents/methodologies and was one of IBM’s first Certified Consultants
and Principals within IBM Global Services with a focus on consulting
services, systems integration and strategy.
James was IBM’s Sr. Executive to the United States Navy on the
Executive Review of Navy Training for the Chief of Naval Operations
focusing on reinventing how the US Navy trains its sailors. James was
instrumental in providing the Navy team with numerous innovations and
insights from the private and public sector, including advanced media
systems, collaboration, leaning models and other key components. The
Chief of Naval Operations personally recognized James for his efforts on
what became his signature effort for his tenure as CNO.
