Employees with chiropractic care benefits return to work more quickly after injuries and incur lower health care costs than those who don’t receive those benefits.
The Georgia Chiropractic Association launched a new Web site,
FindGeorgiaChiropractors.com, February 23 that offers information and resources to HR professionals that show how chiropractic insurance coverage can reduce healthcare costs and improve the overall health and wellness of employees.
“As doctors, we are committed to wellness for all Georgians,” GCA President Dr. Philip Day of Savannah explained. “Chiropractic care has proven, positive effects on our patients’ lives and research has proven chiropractic to be more cost effective and more likely to speed an employee’s return to work.”
Research published in the American Medical Association’s Archives of Internal Medicine has shown that patients with chiropractic coverage spend almost $200 a year less on health care than those without it. Most major insurers cover chiropractic care, as does Medicare and the Military Health System.
The new Web site also explains the benefits of chiropractic care on pain management, athletic performance and wellness. Human resources professionals and employees will also find healthy living articles and weekly tips on how to improve quality of life.
