acquisition of Bilingual Therapies, the national leader in the
placement of bilingual speech language pathologists to school systems
throughout the country. This acquisition adds considerable depth to
Soliant's growing speech language pathology line of business.
Bilingual Therapies was founded in 1998 and has experienced
exceptional growth since inception. Bilingual Therapies has strong
ties to the colleges and universities that provide bilingual speech
language pathologists. In addition, Bilingual Therapies has a sister
company, ProCare, which specializes in providing therapists whose
first language is English to school systems throughout the country.
The speech language pathology industry is experiencing a national
shortage, particularly in areas experiencing strong population growth
such as large metropolitan areas where there is an abundance of
children learning the English language. Further, the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) mandated that disabled children have
equal opportunity to learn, thereby increasing the need for schools to
provide speech therapy.
