Mercer Human Capital, a unit of Mercer Human Resource Consulting, today
announced steps to intensify the link between its human capital services
and client business strategy issues through the formation of a Human
Capital Strategy and Development arm and the appointment of senior
business strategy consultant Ted Moser as its global leader.
Mercer Human Capital's mission is to help organizations optimize their
performance globally by managing, rewarding and engaging talent,
ensuring responsible executive remuneration and enhancing HR
effectiveness.
Mr. Moser, West Coast leader for Mercer Management Consulting (a sister
firm) and a key contributor to Mercer's business strategy platforms,
will assume his new responsibilities October 1. He will continue to be
based in San Francisco.
"Mercer Human Capital believes it is of paramount importance to
intensify the link between business strategy and human capital
strategy," said Robin Ferracone, President of Mercer Human Capital. "Ted
will help us infuse new business design-led thinking into our own
business models and intellectual capital that we use for clients."
Bob Fox, Managing Director at Mercer Management Consulting, added:
"Mercer's business strategy approach, called Business Design, highlights
Organizational Performance Systems as a key alignment area. There is
growing demand from our clients to seamlessly integrate performance
systems thinking into every strategy that we develop. We are excited
about the value that Mercer Human Capital's Strategy and Development
team will create for both our clients and our firms."
Mr. Moser has worked 17 years in strategy consulting for technology-led
industries throughout the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America. His focus
has been on the lifecycle management of business models, and on the use
of new business models to drive profitable growth. His work has raised
the question of how large companies, who often own a portfolio of
different business models, should optimize one or more than one
performance systems.
Moser has been a contributor to Mercer Management Consulting's books
Value Migration and The Profit Zone, written by Adrian Slywotzky, and
was co-author with Mr. Slywotzky of the Mercer strategy book Profit
Patterns. Mr. Moser led the development of Mercer's core business
strategy platform, Value Driven Business Design. He holds an MBA with
highest honors from the Wharton Business School.
Mr. Moser was originally a partner in the Bain & Company spin-off
Corporate Decisions, a consulting firm that focused on profitable growth
strategies and which was acquired by Mercer Management Consulting in
1998. Prior to that, he directed the consulting services of the Wharton
Business School's Small Business Development Center.
Mercer Human Resource Consulting is a global leader for HR and related
