Mercer Global HR Conference to focus on crucial HR trends

December meeting designed to help HR executives tackle global business issues.

New York, 31 May 2006
Mercer Human Resource Consulting's 2006 Global HR Conference: The
Effective Global Workforce (www.mercerHR.com/globalhrconference) will
be held December 5-7 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC.
This conference will help organizations address some of the major
global HR trends that companies around the world are facing and which
are critical factors in building and managing an effective global
workforce.
"Mercer's Global HR Conference will focus on several core trends that
are transforming HR at the start of the 21st Century: globalization of
business operations; driving profitable revenue growth; changing
workforce demographics; continuous process improvement, and the
changing nature of employee engagement. HR professionals must fully
understand the implications of these trends," said Mercer Human
Resource Consulting president Michael Caulfield.
The conference's 36 sessions will be conducted by executives from the
world's leading companies along with Mercer experts from around the
globe. Sessions will be organized so that an attendee can follow a
track dedicated to a specific business theme (Driving Profitable
Revenue Growth, Globalizing Business Operations, Responding to
Demographic Changes, Engaging Employees, Continually Improving
Management Processes) or a specific technical area (Retirement, Health
& Benefits, Total Rewards, Talent Management, Mergers & Acquisitions,
Outsourcing).
Stephen H. Rhinesmith, one of the world's leading experts on corporate
globalization and global HR development, will deliver the keynote
address. The author of Head, Heart & Guts: How the World's Best
Companies Develop Complete Leaders and other books, Mr. Rhinesmith has
served as a globalization consultant to some of the world's largest
companies.
Offered since 1986, Mercer's Global HR Conference has become the
industry's preeminent forum for exchanging ideas on global workforce
and rewards programs. It is intended for a wide range of executives,
from corporate HR and finance leaders to global and regional managers
of benefits and/or compensation - in short, any executive who has a
stake in aligning a company's HR programs with business objectives.
Participants will explore how to maximize the effectiveness and
productivity of their global workforces through:
*     Networking with recognized thought leaders and exchanging ideas
*     Learning from the experiences of HR executives from large global
organizations
*     Exploring solutions to tough HR issues with Mercer's experts in
talent management, retirement and health care program design and
financing, and HR functional effectiveness and outsourcing
Identifying ways to accelerate the implementation of new ideas
and programs within their own organization
The conference prospectus will be distributed later this year and will
include the full conference agenda and details on registration and
accommodation. Because space is limited, pre-registration is strongly
encouraged; those who pre-register at
www.mercerHR.com/globalhrconference will be guaranteed the early
registration discount and receive immediate notification by email when
the full registration system opens.
