Media Opportunities at the 2010 SEUS-CP Annual Conference, April 11 – 13 in Biloxi, Miss.

Governors of southeastern U.S. states and premiers of Canadian provinces or their designees are leading delegations of business leaders and government and university officials to Biloxi, Miss., for the 2010 Southeastern United States – Canadian Provinces Alliance (SEUS-CP) Annual Conference from April 11 – 13. The conference will be held at the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi. Members of the media are invited to attend the event’s town hall session and the press briefing which will immediately follow.

(March 8, 2010) – Governors of southeastern U.S. states and premiers of Canadian provinces or their designees are leading delegations of business leaders and government and university officials to Biloxi, Miss., for the 2010 Southeastern United States – Canadian Provinces Alliance (SEUS-CP) Annual Conference from April 11 – 13. The conference will be held at the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi. Members of the media are invited to attend the event’s town hall session and the press briefing which will immediately follow.

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith will moderate the heads of delegation town hall session. Members of the press may attend and film or tape the session, but questions from the audience will notbe entertained during this event.
 
A press briefing will immediately follow the town hall session. Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi and Premier Danny Williams of Newfoundland and Labrador will give remarks and take questions from the media. 
 
Due to security considerations, members of the media must check in at the door and present valid press credentials to gain entrance to the event. To allow the conference program to begin on time, media must arrive between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m. to be in place at the beginning of the session.
More than 350 delegates from the Alliance’s member states and provinces have registered for the 2010 conference.  The SEUS-CP annual conference promotes mutually beneficial trade, investment and research partnerships between and among the member U.S. states and Canadian provinces. The SEUS-CP annual conference alternates between host sites in the U.S. and Canada each year.
 
SEUS-CP member states include Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member provinces include Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.
