MassMutual Appoints New Vice President of Sales for Health and Executive Benefits

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) today announced that it has appointed James (Jim) Jacobsen vice president, sales, health and executive benefits in the company’s U.S. Insurance Group.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Dec. 29, 2008 – Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) today announced that it has appointed James (Jim) Jacobsen vice president, sales, health and executive benefits in the company’s U.S. Insurance Group.

Mr. Jacobsen is responsible for leading MassMutual’s U.S. sales team for executive group life, disability income insurance, and long term care insurance.  He will be focused on strengthening MassMutual’s operations through training and specialized services and programs to further grow career and brokerage sales at the company. He reports to Lise Hicks, vice president, sales, in the U.S. Insurance Group.

Mr. Jacobsen brings more than 22 years of industry experience to his new role at MassMutual. He joined MassMutual from CIGNA, where he most recently served as vice president, product development for integrated health and disability products. Prior, Mr. Jacobsen held management positions with MetLife and Paul Revere. He has a B.A. from Gettysburg College.
