CHARLESTON, S.C. – May 26, 2010 – Benefitfocus® announced today an agreement with Lifestyle Benefits Corp. to provide the Benefitfocus HR InTouch Application™, which runs on the Benefitfocus Platform™, to employer clients nationwide. The Michigan-based brokerage firm will use the software to provide their customers with a comprehensive and powerful online portal that supports benefit enrollment, employee communication, health and wellness initiatives, and video messaging.
The HR InTouch App increases the company’s efficiency with its product offerings for employer groups. “Previously we scanned thousands of paper forms each month,” explained David Nagengast, President and CEO of Lifestyle Benefits. “We look forward to automating this process and having everything we need at our fingertips.”
The partnership provides Lifestyle Benefits with:
- Simplified online enrollment. The HR InTouch App, privately labeled CorePlus InSync for Lifestyle Benefits, allows employees to easily access and enroll in their benefits online from one place at any time. Designed for employee self-service, the portal is easy to use and includes educational videos, as well as decision-support tools to guide users step by step through the enrollment process.
- Integration with employer payroll systems. Employees can see the impact of their benefit selections on their paychecks in real time. Once the benefit elections are completed and approved, the Benefitfocus Platform synchronizes premium deductions with the employer’s payroll system. Employees can also access their paychecks online via HR InTouch, eliminating the need for employers to print and distribute paychecks.
- Enhanced communications through video. The HR InTouch Video Library offers a wide range of healthcare, HR and benefit topics that explain complicated terminology in a brief, easy-to-understand manner. For example, the Video Library can demystify all the complexities surrounding the provisions in the healthcare reform law.
“Accessing information via one portal will increase timeliness and strengthen customer satisfaction for existing and future clients,” stated Nagengast. “Partnering with Benefitfocus enhances our service-oriented business model.”
Delivered through a Software as a Service model, HR InTouch is hosted and maintained by Benefitfocus. This delivery method lowers the cost of ownership that clients typically experience when they implement conventional software. Clients benefit from automated software upgrades and innovations that allow them to keep up with changes in healthcare and technology.
“Our partnership with Lifestyle Benefits is an endorsement of our long-term strategy to deploy a highly-scalable platform for managing health insurance and voluntary benefits,” expressed Shawn Jenkins, President and CEO of Benefitfocus. “We look forward to working with them for years to come.”
