Free Management Library Reflects Trend in Information Retrieval
Minneapolis, MN (March 13, 2007) — Authenticity Consulting, LLC announces the renovation and expansion of the online Free Management Library, making it easier than ever for managers and leaders to access critical information and resources they need to manage for-profit and nonprofit organizations. 20,000 unique visitors each day to the site since November, 2006, affirms the need for this one-of-a-kind resource — and the trend in how managers retrieve the information they need to successfully manage their organizations.
What?s different? Visitors can quickly search the Library for exactly the right materials and information for their organization, add their own content, report broken links, ask for help using the site and subscribe to email notices when changes are made. The new "Breadcrumbs" feature tracks a visitor's path, making it easier than ever to navigate the 700 topics and more than 1,600 links. They can even "diagnose" their organizations and themselves to identify topics best suited to their needs, such as: guidelines for effective boards of directors; performance management; motivational techniques; group skills; free training programs; free periodicals; indices of blogs; job banks; supersites (websites with vast free resources); and books references.
In more than 25 years of consultation to organizations, Dr. Carter McNamara found that, no matter the level of leadership, managers needed— and asked for— the same types of information. In response, McNamara created the Free Management Library. Instead of handing out pieces of paper, he directs managers to the online resource.
Originally published in 1995, the Library expanded as users accessed the site and requested more and more information to meet their organization's management needs. The site's recent renovation is the response to those needs. In April 2006 a gift in recognition of McNamara's work in the field of Organization Development for nonprofits enabled the renovation and expansion.

Contributors -- Carter McNamara created and organized the materials for the Library, starting in 1995. Management Assistance Program for Nonprofits in St. Paul hosted the Library from 1996 until 2005. The Virginia McKnight Binger Fund provided significant funding for development during the major growth of the Library, through a major renovation in 1999. A gift from United Church of Religious Science to Carter McNamara and matching funds from Authenticity Consulting supported the upgrade just completed.
Carter McNamara, MBA, PhD, is a founding partner of Authenticity Consulting, LLC and nationally-recognized consultant to organizations for more than 25 years. He is the author of nine books, including the 2006 IPPY Award Finalist Field Guide to Consulting and Organizational Development with Nonprofits. Dr. McNamara holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, and a PhD in Human Organization Development from the Union Institute in Cincinnati. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
