ORLANDO, Fla., Oct 16, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- During this morning's opening session at KronosWorks(TM), executive committee members from Kronos(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON) shared their vision of how organizations can effectively manage the workforce of the future. Kronos Chief Executive Officer Aron Ain, Chief Marketing Officer Stuart Itkin, and Chief Technology Officer Peter George took the podium to address their vision to innovators, practitioners, and visionaries in managing the workforce. KronosWorks is the industry's largest venue for exchanging ideas in how to effectively manage the workforce. KronosWorks is taking place this week in Orlando.
Aron Ain
Aron Ain, chief executive officer, demonstrated in his keynote how globalization and technology will change the meaning of "the right person, in the right place, at the right time". The physical location of an employee will be less relevant in the workplace of the future as technology enables greater virtualization, and as organizations increasingly develop the means to bring the work to the knowledge worker, not the worker to the work. As organizations become increasingly global and components of their processes become geographically distributed, they will need more sophisticated solutions. While these solutions must support local languages, work rules, and government regulations, they must also provide a consistent view to manage global operations on a centralized basis.
"The workforce of the future will know no boundaries; it will be truly global. It is the responsibility of vendors such as Kronos to develop solutions that help organizations effectively manage the global workforce of the future," said Ain. "Kronos is committed to being the global experts that organizations rely on to effectively manage the workforce."
Stuart Itkin
During his keynote, Stuart Itkin, chief marketing officer, discussed how delivering the right customer experience starts with satisfied employees. Itkin cited a recent Harris Interactive(R) survey sponsored by Kronos which indicated that 80 percent of full-time employed adults are looking for benefits beyond fair pay from their employers. They are looking for respect in the workplace, a work-life balance, and appreciation. Yet only 32 percent indicated that their organization was sensitive to those needs. In the same survey, people satisfied in their current job overwhelmingly said they were more likely to go above and beyond their daily job responsibilities.
"Having the right person, in the right place, at the right time is all about selecting and hiring the best people, and then effectively deploying them," said Itkin. "We have a vision for helping organizations enhance the customer experience that they deliver. It's simple and it all comes back to the workforce: hire the best people and maximize their performance."
Peter George
Peter George, chief technology officer, discussed Kronos' vision of enabling the highly effective operation of a worldwide workforce. As organizations bring the work to the worker, George believes it will be increasingly important for employees to interact with workforce management solutions using methods that are most natural and convenient. George envisions an even wider array of enabling technologies in the future, making employee interactions even easier and more implicit.
George also addressed the technological implications of managing a more complex and geographically dispersed workforce. As organizations tackle the problem of managing highly sophisticated processes on a worldwide basis, they will demand a robust computing backbone that operates anytime, anywhere. During his keynote, George commented that organizations should expect vendors to deliver solutions that are increasingly scalable, flexible, and cost effective. These solutions should leverage existing infrastructures and be easily integrated with other products. He also believes that vendors must offer a vast network of support because customers will require and should expect a consistent level of support on a global basis.
"As we move toward an era where organizations bring the work to the worker, a paradigm shift will occur in the way technology is used to leverage this distributed global workforce," said George. "Kronos will be the vendor driving this paradigm shift."
