Mercer Human Resource Consulting announced today that two seasoned consulting professionals have joined the firm´s sales effectiveness business. Their arrival adds to Mercer´s already considerable experience in advising clients in sales management disciplines.
Jason Jordan and Christopher Hergesell will work in Mercer´s sales effectiveness business, which helps clients focus efforts on the right customer segments and motivate their salespeople to exceed expectations. They will be based in Washington, DC. Mr. Jordan, 36, and Mr. Hergesell, 33, are joining Mercer directly from Go To Market Partners, an Arlington, Virginia-based sales and marketing strategy consulting firm.
"Jason and Chris broaden and deepen our strategic and tactical capabilities in sales effectiveness consulting," says Steve Grossman, the leader of Mercer´s sales effectiveness business in the Americas. "Their expertise increases our ability to help our clients execute their business strategies and improve the predictability and ROI of their sales efforts."
A co-founder (in 2002) and managing principal of Go To Market Partners, Mr. Jordan, is a recognized thought leader in the area of consultative selling. Earlier, he was a principal at Renaissance Worldwide where he built and ran their process transformation practice. Mr. Jordan was director of business development at Hitachi Consulting and a senior consultant at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.
Mr. Jordan, who was described as one of the "most influential sales leaders in America" by Selling Power magazine, received an MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia and a BA from Duke University.
Mr. Hergesell has extensive experience in both sales strategy development and sales force improvement. His specific areas of expertise are in customer segmentation, channel management, and value proposition development.
Before co-founding Go To Market Partners with Mr. Jordan, Mr. Hergesell was a project manager at the Sales Strategy Institute, a boutique consulting firm. Earlier, he spent several years in sales and finance roles while working in the steel and industrial machinery sectors.
Mr. Hergesell received an MBA from Georgetown University and a BS from Boston University.
