CHICAGO – The nationwide searches undertaken jointly by Jacobson Executive Search, a Chicago-headquartered executive search firm serving the insurance, healthcare and financial service industries, and RLI Corp. of Peoria, Ill., have culminated with the successful appointment of Barbara Allen to the RLI Corp. Board of Directors and Andrew B. McCray as the specialty lines insurer’s new Vice President – Home Office Underwriting.
Allen brings more than 30 years of experience in management roles with significant profit & loss responsibility, strategic impact, marketing and branding accountability to her Board appointment with the publicly-traded insurance carrier. She is currently President of TCA (Tennis Corporation of America) Professional Services, Chicago. Allen previously spent more than 20 years with Quaker Oats Company, Chicago, and also served as CEO of the Women’s United Soccer Association, New York City. Her proven professional career is complemented by her success record as a corporate director. Presently, she serves on the Board of the snack manufacturer, Lance, Inc. She is also a former Board Member of Maytag Corporation; Converse, Inc.; Tyson Foods, Inc.; among others. Allen received her MBA from the University of Chicago and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign.

McCray will lead all property and casualty underwriting activities from the insurer’s home office in Peoria, Ill. He will also be charged with developing strategy, as the firm positions itself for continued growth and success.

McCray joins the niche insurance leader with a proven insurance and underwriting career of more than 20 years. Most recently, McCray was employed by The Westfield Group, where he served in a number of roles of progressive responsibility culminating in his most recent tenure as Executive of Staff Operations for their Underwriting Practice Group. McCray received his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University of New Orleans and his master’s from Ashland University of Ashland, Ohio.
