Mercer appoints Jan Rose as human capital market business leader for New York

Mercer has named Jan Rose as the market leader of its human capital consulting business for the New York Metro market, effective immediately.

Mercer has named Jan Rose as the market leader of its human capital consulting business for the New York Metro market, effective immediately.

Ms. Rose is a principal and senior consultant in Mercer’s workforce strategies segment, with more than 20 years of experience as a practitioner and consultant. With a broad HR background, she will use her skills and client experiences in rewards, talent management and human resource function transformation to implement human capital’s new business strategy.

“Jan has a unique set of expertise and client experience in all our consulting segments,” said Mike Burniston, a worldwide partner with Mercer who leads the human capital consulting business in the US and Canada. “She brings to this leadership role extraordinary skills as a critical thinker, an effective communicator, and an outstanding mentor and developer of people.”

Ms. Rose re-joined Mercer in 2008 from the Capital H Group, having been with Mercer in the mid-1990s. Her experience includes serving as the global content leader at Hewitt and as the global vice president of human resources for the NPD Group. She has been a lecturer in industrial relations at McGill University's School of Management in Montreal, Canada.

In addition to her market leadership role, Ms. Rose joins the New York Metro market leadership team and will join the US human capital leadership team.

Ms. Rose graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA degree in human resources from McGill University in Montreal. She co-authored an article with Henry Mintzberg, a winner of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Science’s “Best Paper” Award, entitled “Strategic Management Upside Down.”
