How to Build a High Performance Resilient Team in 30 Days

Traditionally building an effective team has been regarded as a long term project, a function of time and personal chemistry. Unfortunately competing in the new world economy doesn’t give a leader the luxury of time to ponder strategy or for personal chemistry to impact relationships - teams have to begin performing at the highest level in the shortest possible time to achieve plan or quota. We believe a leader can build a high performing, resilient team in 30 days or less. Using the right technology, such as survey software, to diagnose and measure team culture and effectiveness can further facilitate the speed with which organizations can achieve performance.

The process is broken down into three stages:

Pre Work: Team Diagnostic: Enterprise level feedback via on-line survey tool. These data form the basis of the 3 stages below.
Stage 1: Direction Setting. Agreeing Vision (aspiration) and Mission (reason for being) is crucial. No team can be effective without understanding how they impact the business today and in the future. Belief is also crucial. If team members don’t believe they can make a difference or compete then no team (or business can be successful) - belief is the cornerstone of any Resilient Team
Stage 2: Relationship Building. Robust, trusting relationships are essential if the team is to have impact. Stage 2 builds team effectiveness by ensuring contracts between, and expectations of team members are clearly stated and crisply managed. Conflict is encouraged but only as long as team members assume positive intent
Stage 3: Reaching Out. Many Organizations are heavily matrixed and few teams can ‘do it alone’. The third and final stage of the 30 day roadmap looks at the quality and importance of a teams partnerships.
