Online resources are also available by visiting the HRI website. Support materials include local Red Cross contacts and shelters, tips for those affected by flooding, advice for coping with traumatic events, and links to Web sites with other relevant local information.

“Though Gustav thankfully was a smaller storm than it could have been, there was still extensive damage, and two million people were evacuated and are now coming back not sure of what they may find,” said Edward Trieber, J.D., Ph.D., managing director of Harris, Rothenberg International. “As people return to their homes over the next couple of days, they will have varying worries to face from structural damage to the flooding of homes to loss of power, in addition to coping with emotional toll the evacuation took. We hope HRI can help them locate the authorities and resources they need to ease the transition back into their day-to-day lives.”
