ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., March 27, 2008— The Employer Services segment of First Advantage Corporation (NASDAQ: FADV) announces the launch of SAFEi9™, a comprehensive, proprietary Web-based tool that allows employers to pre-enroll and execute electronic I-9 forms for new employees, efficiently responding to the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act.
The Immigration Reform and Control Act mandates that U.S. employers must verify the employment eligibility status of newly-hired employees and makes it unlawful for employers to knowingly hire or continue to employ unauthorized workers. Through a seamless electronic interface with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), First Advantage’s SAFEi9 delivers the necessary data captured during enrollment for proper verification. In addition, the system is fully integrated with First Advantage’s comprehensive talent acquisition solution.
“Employers often face difficulty managing the compliance process with Homeland Security and seek a user-friendly solution to properly submit critical information on their employees,” said David R. Wirta, executive vice president of First Advantage’s Employer Services segment. “Keeping vital records up-to-date on all employees is crucial to the overall performance of an organization and a necessary step to help ensure a safe and secure workforce.”
SAFEi9 is comprised of three components:
Applicant Registration - a Web-based application that pre-populates the I-9 form, validates applicant credentials (i.e., passport, green card, etc.) and submits candidate data to DHS for Employment Eligibility Verifications (EEV)
Hiring Manager Module - a portal that managers use to verify candidate data and execute the I-9 forms
Administrative Web Site - a Web site in which company officials can monitor and view expiration dates of documentation and EEV results
Additionally, SAFEi9 services can be customized to meet specific business requirements and create a completely paperless verification process. Customized applications can include an error-detecting electronic Form I-9 solution, an e-signature and the ability to utilize high-security features and e-storage, which securely stores I-9 forms along with accompanying documents. SAFEi9 also offers a telephone registration option, enabling customers to initiate a digital submission to DHS. Customers utilizing this service may receive responses via fax machine or retrieve them online. Employers may also add 90, 60 and/or 30-day management alerts in advance of the expiration of employees’ work authorization documents as well as comprehensive Form I-9 consulting, auditing and process installation services to manage the complete verification process. Finally, customers may opt to completely outsource the I-9 process to First Advantage. First Advantage operates a network of 200 certified secure third-party locations where candidates can go to have their online I-9 forms and credentials reviewed and executed.
