The Human Equation, Inc., the technology partner of Setnor Byer Insurance & Risk, announces the immediate availability of the Employee Report Line (ERL®), a risk management tool that gives employees a simple, efficient, and secure method of reporting any type of workplace misconduct, including fraud, harassment, criminal acts, and discrimination. Utilizing ERL’s technology-based initiatives, conscientious employers can provide employees with an open avenue of communication to report workplace problems anonymously and confidentially. This type of reporting procedure is not only required of all public companies under Section 301 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, but it can also help employers establish the Faragher/Ellerth affirmative defense under Federal employment discrimination laws.

An Internet-Based Tool for Reducing Enterprise Risk

ERL permits employees to report complaints 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via phone, fax, mail, or the Internet. Using the Internet site (http://www.employeereportline.com), employees can check the status of their complaint at any time. The site is also used by designated managers to track all complaints, respond to them, and post updates.  Subsequent responses to complaints are logged on the system, and emails are automatically sent to employees, informing them of their employer’s response.

ERL currently supports English and Spanish language reporting, but other languages can be accommodated at the request of an organization.

Many current employee report line systems rely solely on phone reporting and do not provide the additional benefits of ERL’s more streamlined online complaint system.  Furthermore, complaints submitted by telephone, fax, or mail will be entered into ERL’s online database so that these too will generate reports.  ERL’s technology is state-of-the-art, ensuring employers a higher standard of risk management.
