eQuest Reports Best Days of the Week to Post Jobs

Metrics on One Million Postings and Incoming Candidate Traffic Reports Confirm when Candidates are Looking for Jobs

San Ramon, CA - March 27, 2006 - eQuest, who manages job-posting transaction deliveries for more than 11,000 companies worldwide, reaching more than 200 countries and territories announced today its findings on when best to post jobs to the Internet.

The report was based on eQuest's internal job tracking systems which follow jobs to hundreds of job boards, tracking how many candidates view these jobs and how many of these candidates move to the next step of the application process by clicking on the apply buttons. This tracking illuminates the best dates and times candidates are reviewing and responding to job advertisements.

The analytics were based on approximately 1 million jobs posted through the eQuest system since January 1, 2006.

The report clearly confirms that candidates are searching for jobs between Monday and Thursday with a major drop in activity on Friday and continuing downward over the weekend.

The report shows out of 100% of candidate activity for each week; Monday received 17.5%, Tuesday moved slightly upward to 17.8%, Wednesday winning out at 18.1%, Thursday dropping to 16.8%, while Friday, Saturday, and Sunday slowed down to 12.3%, 08.6%, and 09.0% respectively.

eQuest also revealed that the hours of increased activities indicated most Internet users seeking jobs are clearly doing their searching during their work day with hourly peaks occurring between 11:00am to 1:00pm (lunchtime) and between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.

"Job posting analytics help our customers use performance data to improve their online job-posting campaigns," said John Malone, President and Chief Executive Officer at eQuest. "Our job tracking systems can even tell recruiters which job boards work best for any given job before they even post them. This translates into huge cost savings as a result."

eQuest recommends its users post their jobs early in the week and more specifically on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Since most job boards' search criteria are revealed to candidates based on the newest to oldest posted jobs, these dates are key to getting jobs in front of the most candidates.
