Empowering the Community through Economic Diversity!

On Wednesday, June 13, 2007 a special Community Empowerment… with Lillian
McMorris will air at 10:00 am on VegasTV / KTUD Cable 14 / Channel 25 and
feature interviews with prominent members of the Asian, Latin and Urban
Chambers of Commerce and special guests including State of Nevada Governor
Jim Gibbons. This television talk show was taped on location during the
fourth annual Joint Chamber Luncheon inside Caesars Palace.

The 4th annual Joint Chamber of Commerce Luncheon was hosted by Harrah’s
Entertainment. Fred Keeton, Vice President External Affairs and Chief
Diversity Officer said, "Harrah's Entertainment is delighted to again be
primary sponsor and host for this trend setting annual event.  We are the
largest and most geographically dispersed gaming company with almost 40
operating locations in fourteen states and on three continents.  As a
result, we see efforts at business growth and economic development in many
operating environments.  This model of direct and formal collaboration
between the Asian, Latin, and Urban Chambers is unprecedented.  It is
economic diversity and inclusion in action, and serves as an example for
the entire country".

The “Joint Chambers Luncheon” was created in 2004 when former Asian
Chamber President, James Yu suggested to the Latin, Urban and Asian
Chambers to have combined luncheon. That first year the keynote speaker
was Governor Kenny Guinn with over 800 business and community leaders in
attendance. In 2005, the keynote speaker was Mayor Oscar Goodman with more
than 1100 guests. In 2006, Harrah’s Entertainment CEO Gary Loveman was the
keynote speaker with more than 1200 guests in attendance. This year
Governor Jim Gibbons was the keynote speaker in front of an audience that
equaled the pervious years.
