“Since my beginnings in aviation, it has been my goal to become a Flight Instructor to help and inspire others along the way. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Delta Connection Academy has given me to help achieve my dreams,” said Medina.

In the essay that won her the scholarship, Medina talked about her trip to New York to see family as a child, her initial desire to join the Navy and the people who steered her to follow her passion for flying. She wrote “Becoming a commercial airline pilot is all I’ve ever dreamed and all that I have ever pursued.
