Daughter of Atlas Van Lines employee wins scholarship

Moving and Storage Institute awards $1,000 to Indiana University sophomore

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Cori Godeke and her parents can rest a little bit easier when fall semester starts at Indiana University this year thanks to a scholarship from The Moving and Storage Institute (MSI).

The $1,000 scholarship will be used for books and tuition, said Cori, the daughter of Dan Godeke, a Specialized Transportation Group planner with Atlas Van Lines.

Cori, who is majoring in accounting at Indiana University, applied for the David Brodsky, Russell Schofield and MSI Scholarship Program in February. The scholarship - only available to van line or moving and storage company employees or their children, grandchildren or spouses - is awarded to students pursuing a career in an area of business that will impact the household goods moving and storage industry.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on academic record, leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances and financial need.

MSI is the philanthropic arm of the American Moving and Storage Association.
